Hungerford on the K&A
Hungerford between Kintbury and Little Bedwyn on the K&A, is about 4 miles from Kintbury with 7 locks in between so allow about three hours.Its a very nice stretch again as you head west and Hungerford is a good example of an English market town and a good place top up with supplies. 

Approach via Wire Lock (81) Dun Mill Lock (75) to Hungerford Lock itself (84) There is a unique Swing Bridge across the Lock chamber at Hungerford Marsh Lock (85.) The character of Hungerford wharf-side has been largely retained with sympathetic development over the years….

Rights to Hungerford common were granted in the 14th century by John O-Gaunt, who was the father of King Henry IV.
